New Years Eve Idea??

I hope everyone had a most joyful Christmas!  What great shopping deals did you find?? :)

I was watching a DVR'd Nate Berkus show today... which, PS, is a fabulous show.  I just love him!  Anyway-- He did a segment about turning things people were about to throw away into new usable/pretty things.  One guest was throwing away brooches she never wore-- Now, I don't know why someone would do that! There are soooooo many things to do with them! But anyway, she was going to.  Of course, Nate had great ideas~

Use brooches and ribbon to hang picture frames and also to create magnets!  So so so cute!  I'm searching through my jewelry tonight for this purpose  :) 

This also got me thinking... I know I've seen/heard about this before, but... dressing up shoes!  And in perfect time for New Years.  Waaaaaaaay cheaper than buying a new pair! It's also reversible, if you so choose.  If you have a pair of earrings that you no longer wear, use 'em, mismatched brooches in the same general shape, use 'em... You might get some weird looks with that last one, however, I always say Be Yourself!!!! and do NOT be afraid to do so!  Be unique, be different~

I can't believe I have neglected to talk about this until now!!!! OMG! It's one of my most favorite nights of the year! The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show!!!
I have a think for peacocks and really, any kind of feathers~ So this year... I was lovin' it!!!

I actually have this 'outfit' ... I bought it a few years back.. Maybe it's time to break it out...~ ;)

Ahhh, a fantasy world where we all looked like that & could dress that way & get away with it!  I also want to have a hair/makeup/workout team...just for myself. To see what I would look like...! Hmm.... I mean, seriously... wouldn't you?  :)

Hello Pantone!

So I've been reading/seeing everywhere that Pantone released it's color of the year.. and its Honeysuckle!

When I googled it, I found the 2011 color palette of the year.... see below...!!!

and how in LOVE with these colors am I?! It's like they came to my house...!  Love Love Love!

So much so that my bedroom for the colder months of the year will be Silver Peony (which you know how much I love peonies, one of my dogs is even name Peonie :)  ) & Silver Cloud.  I had already decided to do gray walls with creams and whites...and was then stuck on other colors.  Anyway, I digress...  To see more on that, visit my mom's blog Early on a Saturday Morning.

How gorgeous is this?! And the colors.... B-E-A-U-TIFUL! And guess what? Right in line with Pantone's colors of the year for 2011!!  This is now my inspiration for New Years! Maybe not this year, in Paris and all.. but next year? Hey, a girl can dream right? And C, if you're reading this... hint hint! ;)

I have always known how much I love gray with just about everything.... white, cream, bright yellow, this perfect dusty rose sort of color that will forever be known to me now as Silver Peony..  But I didn't realize how much of it I already own!  I'm so excited to go shopping both in my closet (again!) and at the mall and see what I can come up with with all of the Pantone colors in mind!!  In the meantime, take a look at some of the fashion photos I found that do just that...~

End of an Era

So, I know I this blog is about shopping, and fashion, and style, etc etc etc  :) However... I wanted to spend a few minutes talking about the (now former) UF coach, Urban Meyer.  He stepped down this week, to my complete shock.... my boss & coworkers teased me for the next few days because it for real turned my day upside down!

To our coach who gave is everything, 24 hours a day to the University of Florida & our football team-- Thanks Urban for 6 wonderfully fabulous storybook football years!  Good luck in the future!

Inspiration

 

I can't remember where I found this, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! So much so that it is currently hanging above my desks both at work and at home.  The one at home is awaiting a cute frame and a couple of friends maybe :)  I've been using this as inspiration for the past few weeks.

I also have used Elizabeth Edwards as inspiration for some time.  I have one of her books, and I just think it is beautiful.  She amazed me so much, the way she handled everything she went through with such grace and humility.  May she rest in peace, and hopefully she will continue to inspire y'all as much as she will me.
